Osawatomie has been looking forward to it’s inaugural Third Saturday Block Party Celebration for weeks, and it finally arrives today, April 15th! Main Street will be blocked off from 5th to 6th beginning at 4:00 this afternoon until 10:00 tonight. It’s a family event and even though activities for kids are scheduled during the early hours and events geared toward adults are later on, the whole party should be fun for the whole family. Tourism Committee member Jeff Dorsett says there is a huge variety of activities for the kids.
During the late evening, dj jamie bDJ Jamie Bowman will get the crowd moving from 7:00 to 10:00 with a street dance. There will also be hourly drawings for some pretty amazing prizes.
Dorsett says the plan is to have an event in Osawatomie on the third Saturday each month, through October. It’s his hope that it will catch on and attract outside visitors to the community. Head on over to Osawatomie for Third Saturday, tonight!
