April is Autism Acceptance Month and the Osage County Sheriff’s office is starting a new program that gives a sense of safety and piece of mind to parents of children who tend to wander. Isabella Benson gives some details of the device:

Project Lifesaver is a search and rescue program founded in 1999 and focused on locating individuals not only with autism, but also any individual with cognitive disabilities who have a tendency to wander off from their caregivers. Over 4,000 people have been rescued using the technology. Along with Osage County, Consolidated Fire District Number 1 and the Douglas County Sheriff’s office are certified in our area
