A man who plead guilty to child sex crimes in Linn County, has been sentenced to more than 18 years in prison. Kansas Attorney General, Kris Kobach announced late last week, that 34 year-old Lonnie Martin, was sentenced to more than 18 years in prison following his conviction on two counts of sex crimes.
Court records indicate that Martin was sentenced April 14 in linn county district cLinn County District Court to serve 13 years and 9 months in prison for one count of rape and 5 years and 1 month for one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. Linn County Judge, Andrea Purvis, ordered Martin to serve the sentences one after the other and to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. He plead “No Contest” to the charges February 22nd. Officials noted that the crimes took place between July 2014 and December 2017. The case was investigated by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
