
Prairie Paws Animal Shelter is overwhelmed. As of Wednesday, June 21st, they had had 240 animal intakes in the last 40 days and were housing 72 animals in the building, the most Director Vanessa Cowie has seen in her time here. One animal coming in huge numbers…kittens. They have many in foster homes until they are old enough to be adapted out, but they just keep coming. Cowie says there is one way to prevent this:
She adds that they also need donations. She says monetary donations are being matched, dollar for dollar by a sponsor this month, so for every dollar you give, that sponsor matches it, which gives the shelter better opportunities to provide for the animals. Cowie says while they prefer material items donated, right now, monetary donations can go much further.
