We have more information on a crash that happened on 59 Highway a couple weeks ago. About 2:30 on June 1st, a vehicle driven by Rhianna Johnson was northbound on 59 Highway when a vehicle driven by Stephany Anderson attempted a u-turn in front of her, causing Johnson to t-bone the Anderson vehicle. The crash left Anderson with serious injuries and she was trapped in her vehicle.
Crews with extrication equipment were called to the scene and EMS requested an air ambulance be sent to the scene. After being extricated from the vehicle, air ambulance crews flew her to a metro hospital for the injuries she sustained in the crash. Highway 59 near Douglas Road was closed for a time while crews worked the scene and the air ambulance landed and took off.
