An Ottawa man is counting his blessings after a scary accident involving a deer this morning. Thirty five year-old Derrick Lowe, of Ottawa, was traveling southbound in the 4100 block of Mountain Road on his 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle just before 6:00 this morning, July 12th, when a deer dashed out front of him. Once there, Lowe was evaluated by EMS and was taken to AdventHealth Ottawa by private vehicle for treatment of injuries he received in the crash. No word on the extent of those injuries.
The deer did not survive the accident and damage to Lowe’s motorcycle was listed as more than $1,000.
