Chances are that unless you have visited a northern state, you probably haven’t see the Aurora Borealis, known as the Northern Lights. The multi colored light show in the sky is created when solar wind collides with the earth’s atmosphere. They are often visible in the Polar Regions of Canada, Iceland, Alaska and in the United State’s northern states. But, you may have the chance to see the Northern Lights in Kansas tomorrow night!

A huge solar storm will dip south and according to the University of Fairbanks Geophysical Institute, the Northern Lights might be able to be seen as far south as Kansas. The ideal time to see the display will be from 10:00 at night until 2:00 Friday morning in a spot not polluted with light and at a high elevation. I’ll be out looking for them, why not, may be a once in a lifetime chance.
