Thursday, July 13th, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Drug Enforcement Unit, along with the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a proactive enforcement along the county line. A traffic stop in the 1000 block of Sand Creek Road led to the arrest of two people on drug charges. Sixty three year-old Marvin McWhorter of Quenemo was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license. Also arrested was 45-year-old Jesse Lindsey of Wellsville on a Miami County probation violation warrant.
Information gathered in the stop led to a search warrant being executed on South Stanley Road in Quenemo. As a result, additional charges related to narcotics and stolen property will be submitted to the Osage County District Attorney’s Office. The Osage County and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Ottawa Police Department assisted with the investigations.
