Admission to the Goppert Building is free today to try to help
beat the heat for those still without power and/or ac.
If you need water, ac, hot coffee, a recharge on your phone, or a snack this morning at 204 South Main.
The American Red Cross Shelter at the Ottawa High School South Gym, 1120 South Ash in Ottawa, plans to close on Thursday, August 3 due to limited usage. Red Cross staff will continue to monitor usage and if a need is determined, it will remain open as needed until power is restored throughout the city.
There are numerous facilities in Ottawa open for the public to cool off, recharge phones and electronic devices, and access the internet.
• Ottawa Library, 105 S. Hickory, open from 9 am to 8 pm
• Ottawa Community Church, 824 W. 17th Street, open from 10 am to 7 pm
• COF Training Services, 1516 N. Davis Avenue, open from 8 am to 5 pm, offering showers and laundry facilities
