One week ago today, most of Ottawa woke up in the dark after a powerful storm rolled through the area, knocking down trees, bringing down power poles and lines with them. The road to restore power began right after the storm, some of Ottawa’s residences without electricity all week. On Friday, Utility Director, Dennis Tharp sais there were only 20 to 25 houses without power, and his crews would continue to work through the weekend, if necessary, to get those people restored. He says there is a lot of work to do yet, involving cleanup
Public works crews will continue to pick up limbs and debris from the curbs. Tharp says there will be more than one pass through town and they will make sure all storm debris is cleaned up over the next several weeks. City officials say that if you have any concerns, please feel free to call them and let them know.
