Have you ever seen the wooden structures on either side of the river, on the the north side, just behind the car wash on the south side, between the Main Street Bridge and the Trail Bridge and wondered what they do? Actually, they are the most critical feature in feeding electricity to the north side of town and they are very old. Utility Director, Dennis Tharp, says they need to be reconstructed:
Tharp says he has targeted 2027 to have engineering completed and begin construction for enhanced reliability of generation to the circuits. This is another project directly related to the need for the recent rate increases.
The recent storm and resulting power outage city wide, may push the repairs forward.
