An injury accident on I-35 Sunday night August 13th, sent two people to the hospital. Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the 3700 block of I-35 around 7:40 Sunday evening on a report of a single vehicle accident. Forty year-old Hugo Arevalo, of Emporia was traveling southbound in his pickup truck, when he lost control of the vehicle due to a blown tire. He struck a bridge twice before coming to a stop in the roadway. Two passengers in his truck were transported to AdventHealth Ottawa by Franklin County EMS for treatment of injuries they sustained in the crash. Their names and conditions were not released.
