Another big event announced for the Garnett area. The Anderson County Flywheelers announce the upcoming Gas Engine and Tractor Show will be held Friday and Saturday, October 6th and 7th at Lake Garnett Park. Education day for school children, will held on the 6th at the East Shelter area. Schools and home-schooled children can watch antique farm equipment demonstrations and participate in activities, such as rope making, corn shelling, and shingle cutting. There will be all kinds of exhibitors, a flea market, food vendors and demonstrations during the event. Some demonstrations include a threshing machine, stationary baler, corn shredder, 1926 Rumely R and Rumely X, and several antique tractors, large and small “poppin” gas engines.
This year’s event features International Harvester tractors and engines. However, all makes and models are welcome. We’ll have more on this event as it draws closer.
