The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has released information on a recent drug raid. Tuesday morning, September 26th, the Franklin County Drug Enforcement Unit and the Ottawa Police Department Special Tactics and Rescue Team executed a search warrant in the 1600 block of South Hickory Street in Ottawa. They arrested 24-year-old Jacob Peterson without incident, for distribution of opiates, which includes fentanyl, along with other drug related charges. Officials say this has been an ongoing investigation which included officers from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Ottawa Police Department and the Northeast Kansas Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force.
The Sheriff’s Department thanks the neighborhood affected by the activity for their patience while they worked through the process. They say their main goal is the protection of the public and they continue to devote themselves to safe communities and neighborhoods throughout Franklin County. They encourage anyone with any information regarding the unlawful distribution of fentanyl or any other illegal drug to contact law enforcement immediately.
