Two police chases in Osage County yesterday, October 10th. The first happening in the early mourning hours. Just after 2:00 yesterday morning, an Osage County Sheriff Deputy attempted a traffic stop near 125th Street on Topeka Boulevard. The vehicle fled from officers. A pursuit continues south of Topeka Avenue and went west on highway 56 into Scranton. The vehicle drove onto a dead end street in Scranton and the chase concluded. The driver, 44-year-old Landon Noah of Topeka arrested for aggravated assault and battery on law enforcement, driving under the influence, reckless driving, fleeing and eluding and driving without a driver’s license.
The second chase when an alert homeowner in Osage City alerted the Osage County Sheriff’s Office of a suspicious person on the porch of an unoccupied home in the 700 block of East 205th, yesterday afternoon. While enroute, the homeowner advised that the person had gone into the house. The suspect then stole a truck and left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. Spotted near West 229th and Fairlawn Road travelling westbound, a deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, which failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued. That pursuit ended in a field near West 217th and Auburn Road, the suspect fleeing on foot. Deputies and Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers set up a perimeter. A KHP helicopter, two K-9 units, a drone, and deputies on foot were utilized in searching the wooded area. The suspect was eventually located and taken into custody. Twenty eight year old Kelsey Ritter, of Burlingame was arrested on suspicion of burglary of a dwelling, felony theft, aggravated battery on law enforcement, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and criminal damage to property.
