A local charitable organization has played a huge role in making the lives of cancer victims in Anderson County easier. Women In Need Gaining Strength, or “WINGS” was founded on the premise that no woman should have to fight the battle against cancer alone and thru the comfort, faith and encouragement of others strength can be given to those in need. WINGS can help with the cost of mammograms, office visit and gas cards to local women in need, to get to appointments. They have partnered with Anderson County Hospital, in Garnett, to provide mammograms.
Today, October 27th, is the KOFO Cancer Awareness Telethon, benefitting the Franklin County Cancer Foundation. If you live in Anderson County, we urge you to use our telethon as a stepping stone in making a donation to WINGS to help support all those suffering with cancer in the Anderson County area.
