The USD 290 School Board has a new member. At last night’s meeting, after interviewing five candidates to fill a vacant seat left by Kelly Graves, who passed away after a fight with cancer, a motion was made to choose a new face. Mimi Turner will join the Board. In her interview, she said finding ways to keep local students in the district is important:
Turner added, that may be one way to fill specialty position such as special education and foreign language. She and her family have lived in Ottawa for over 17 years and she couldn’t be happier with how the Ottawa schools have treated her children over the years.
