The Ottawa City Commission is considering what charity should receive a two thousand dollar donation. The annual donation is from Price Chopper to the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund. Commissioner Zach Clayton says if the city has discretionary money, why not give some of it toward the Baby Box.
The Baby Box would be installed at the Ottawa Fire Station for mothers who find themselves in a desperate condition, unable to take care of a baby. The box would be a place to put the infant to give it a hopeful future and even potentially saving the baby’s life. The City Commission will continue discussion on how to place the donation next week.
