The possibility of solar farms in Franklin County stirred some discussion during the Franklin County Planning Commission Meeting. A company called Orion Renewable Energy Group of Oakland, California, is proposing a solar farm. Shandie Prouty of Baldwin says some hard questions needed to be asked, and later during a short interview with KOFO news, Orion Director of Development, Michael Kurnik, provided a response:
Kurnik says neither he nor his company colleague, Alicia Smith, were not present when the regulations were written, so they cannot speak to all angles of this particular issue.
The proposed solar farm would be near the intersection of Rock Creek and Jackson Roads.
