The Miami County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who held up the Dollar General Store at 25579 Old Kansas City Road in Paola, at gunpoint Sunday, January 28th. Just after 7:00 that night, an individual, believed to be a white male about 5 foot 4 inches tall, with long hair, wearing a grey hat and a Carhartt style coat, black sweats and white Nike shoes, entered the store brandishing a firearm and ordered the employees to hand over the money in the register. The subject left in a grey or silver SUV and headed north. No injuries were reported in the crime.
