January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and at their meeting tomorrow,January 31st, the Ottawa City Commission will approve a Proclamation in recognition of the event. Recently Zoe Barlow, of the Willow Domestic Violence Center, talked about the problem of trafficking:
Law enforcement officials say people of all ages, including children, can be victims of human trafficking. Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards says don’t let our rural area fool you, there have been cases of human trafficking here also.
