The city of Ottawa is getting close to installing what many call ‘smart meters’ for city electrical customers. Utilities Director, Dan Riney, says there are a lot of advantages to the new meters:
Riney says it would give the city the ability to trace outages and restore service more quickly. The city will purchase 2,600 more meters for about $468,000.
