A wrong way driver caused an accident on I-35 yesterday afternoon, February 15th, that sent a Kansas City woman to the hospital with serious injuries. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a vehicle, driven by 43-year-old Gabrielle Bellamy of Kansas City, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes at mile marker 186, just south of Neosho Road. A vehicle driven by 28-year-old Sebastian Klesing, of Rochester, Virginia, attempted to avoid Bellamy; however, Bellamy’s vehicle hit the driver’s side of Klesing’s car. The impact caused Bellamy’s car to leave the road, while Klesing car came to a stop on the shoulder. Bellamy was transported to AdventHealth Ottawa. State trooper Aaron Miller says it could have been worse:

The Franklin County Sheriff’s office assisted with the crash, along with Franklin County EMS.
