One person was killed and another was injured in a motorcycle crash yesterday morning, March 3rd, near Baldwin junction. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 48-year-old Robert Stergos, of Tonganoxie and 49-year-old Margaret Coleman, of Overland Park were southbound on U. S. 59 on an Indian Chieftain motorcycle when the rear tire blew out, causing the motorcycle to slide and throw both occupants off. Unfortunately, coleman did not survive the crash. Stergos was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
U.S. Highway 59 southbound near U. S. Highway 56, the Baldwin Junction, was closed as the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
