For several years the Wellsville ambulance has been moved up to areas where the call volume is high. The ambulance serves as a backup if needed. The problem is that in most cases, the ambulance returns unused, back to the Wellsville station. Franklin County Emergency Medical Services Director, Christi Hilliker, says it’s putting a lot of extra miles on the vehicle:
Officials are reviewing the practice to see if the ‘move up’ can be eliminated so the Wellsville ambulance stays in Wellsville.
