Ottawa University has announced that Dr. Reggies Wenyika has stepped down as President of the Ottawa Campus after six years of service to the university. In a statement this morning, Chancellor William Tsutsui says since assuming the Presidency in 2018, Dr. Reggies has led OU to new levels of success in enrollment, athletics, academic achievement, diversity, and internationalization. He pioneered innovative, student-centered programs and advanced the long partnership between the University and the city of Ottawa.

Wenyika says he is extremely grateful for his time at OU. He is immensely proud of the accomplishment of the OU team while he was president, and gives thanks to the faculty, staff, students, and the Ottawa University Community for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. Tsutsui says an interim president will be named at the end of the spring semester, and a national search for the next campus president will begin in late summer, but in the meantime, the OU leadership team of Dean Donald Anderson, Athletic Director, Janet Eaton Smith, Director of Operations, Jay Kahnt, and Director of Enrollment, David Tyner, will work closely to ensure smooth operations.
