In his monthly Mid-America Business Conditions Index Survey of supply managers, Creighton University Economics Professor Ernie Goss, PhD, says approximately 68% of supply managers expect a 2024 recession. Meanwhile, hiring remains weak and was down significantly in March.
Approximately 27.3% of supply managers reported job losses. Job openings also were down in all nine mid-america states in March.
