Ottawa city crews continue the repair of a sinkhole at the intersection of 10th and Burrough Street. Recently the new drainage pipe was installed and concrete and infill were poured. The crew kept watch on the area over the weekend and let everything settle and dry. They are hoping to begin surface repair today. Overall, construction and repairs should be complete early this week, weather permitting. Officials remind motorists that the intersection will remain closed until all repairs are complete and it is determined to be safe.
The issue was caused a couple weeks ago when heavy rains and flooding in the area caused an underground drainage pipe to collapse and open a sinkhole in the road.
