The Plaza Theatre and the Plaza 1907 Movie Memorabilia Museum in Ottawa has been added as an attraction in the 2024 Kansas Tourism Sunflower Program. The Sunflower Summer Program is a benefit for Kansas families with school-aged children, to encourage them to explore, and fall in love, with Kansas. The program is designed to give affordable access to tourism attractions across the state and support the Kansas tourism economy. The museum at the Plaza was created to honor the theater’s part in film history. The museum is filled with authentic props, posters and scripts dating back to the 19th century.

The Sunflower Summer Program allow free admission for two students and a parent or grandparent into hundreds of attractions in Kansas from museums to zoos, to art and culture centers and much more. All you have to do is download the Sunflower Summer app and register to claim tickets at participating venues. The summer season will run from May 25th to August 11th.
