The Kansas Commerce Department has put together an Apprenticeship Program to work on the workforce issue, facing many areas of the state. Franklin County Development Director Paul Bean tells us how it will be initially used locally at Mac Fasteners with on the job training and classroom education:
Bean says there will be opportunities for other businesses and industry in town to participate in the Apprenticeship Program in the near future. The goal is to train and keep workers here to fill jobs now, but also entice other industry to the area.
