Early yesterday morning,June 3rd, just before 12:30 Ottawa Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of South Burrough Street for a report of shots fired into a residence. Responding officers discovered that the suspect attempted to break into the home and discharged a firearm into the occupied residence. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
Officers quickly identified the suspect and apprehended him a few blocks away from the residence. Thirty nine-year-old Andrew White, from Ottawa, was arrested for criminal threat, and unlawful discharge of a firearm into an occupied dwelling. White is currently being held in the Franklin County Adult Detention Center pending formal charges. After processing the crime scene, Detectives collected a firearm as evidence. Police are asking for the public’s help in the case. Anyone with exterior video surveillance or door cameras are asked to review the video from overnight and if anything unusual was recorded, please contact Ottawa Police immediately.
