The Ottawa City Commission is going over 2025 budget request from city partners and one of those is Prairie Paws Animal Shelter. They are seeking an increase of $55,000 to their annual request to fund the hiring of an animal control person. Prairie Paws Director Vanessa Cowie explained:
Police Chief Adam Weingartner also answered questions regarding the need for such a position. Commissioners took request into consideration.
