Jayhawk Blast, the annual celebration for the city of Mound City, is set for tomorrow, and will kick off with a fishing derby at the Mound City Lake, with four age groups. Registration for the fishing derby begins at 9:00 tomorrow morning, June 8th, with the derby running from 9:30 to 11:00 with prizes to follow.
All other activities take place at the Mound City Ball Complex on the southwest edge of town. It starts with a 9:30 registration for the car show, which runs from 11:00 to 2:00. There will be a huge corn hole tournament starting at 2:00. Also, it’s not American Idol, but something possibly better, Jayhawk Blast Idol starting at 2:00. Add bounce houses, an obstacle course, water balloon toss, kids activities and much more and you have a full day of fun in the sun.
Bring your lawn chairs, and stick around for some incredible live music, featuring two bands. The Box Cutters and Western Cuts will be in concert starting at 5:30. End the day with a huge fireworks show at dusk. Linn county’s Jayhawk Blast, tomorrow, June 8th, in Mound City.
