Senator Jerry Moran spoke at a ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy in France, yesterday in Abilene at the Eisenhower Library. Last year, Moran spoke on the Beach at Normandy, honoring the nearly 10,000 American Soldiers buried in Normandy, paying tribute to the largest and most ambitious military operation in modern history, planned and executed under the leadership of a farm boy from Abilene, Kansas, Dwight Eisenhower:
In Abilene, Moran presented news that the Federal Government had appropriated over $17 million to the Eisenhower Presidential Library for restoration, renovation and news exhibits.
