Friday, July 5th, Garnett Police took a theft report from a business in Garnett and were able to obtain a license tag number for the suspect vehicle. Later that day, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office took a theft report from another business that supplied the same tag number.
The vehicle was located and detained by the river and, during an investigation, stolen property from six stores were recovered; four stores in Garnett, and two in Greeley. A 38-year-old man, on parole from Sedgwick County, was arrested on numerous counts of misdemeanor and felony theft. He is being held on a $30,000 bond with formal charges pending with Anderson County. All stolen items were returned to the stores they were stolen from.
