Health officials are warning Kansans against the use of Diamond Shruumz Edibles. The KDHE says the CDC is investigating 58 cases of severe illnesses related to the products, including two in Kansas. One death may be linked to the line as well. The FDA has since recalled the products. A variety of symptoms are being reported including seizures, loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness, abnormal heart rates, high or low blood pressure, nausea and vomiting.”
Many of the illnesses reported are in children who have mistaken the edible s for candy and eaten much more that advised. The edibles contain psilocybin, the compound found in psychedelic mushrooms which can cause changes in perception, mood and cognition, and is toxic in high doses. The KDHE says anyone with the items, including chocolate bars, cones, and gummies; should destroy them immediately and contact Diamond Shruumz.
