Just after 7:00 yesterday morning, July 19th, the Osage County Sheriff’s Department was called to a report of a fuel truck on fire at mile post 120 on 75 highway. Upon arrival deputies found the 2007 Peterbilt fuel tanker completely engulfed in flames. According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, the truck had been hauling 3,500 gallons of diesel fuel. A tire that blew out, ruptured the tank causing the fire. Highway 75 was shut down in both directions for several hours, while fire crews attempted to contain the fire.
No word on which fire departments responded to the scene. Wells reports that no injuries were reported in the incident.
