One person was injured, one person was arrested and another person is at large following an attack that was reported late Monday at a park just north of downtown Lawrence. Around 11 Monday night, Lawrence police were sent to the 200 block of Indiana Street after receiving a report of gunshots in the area. Lawrence Police Officials say that officers initially approached three people who were uninjured and said they had no information about an incident.
Then, a man emerged from a wooded area covered in blood. Officers discovered that the man had been shot. He told them he had been attacked. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. The investigation ultimately led officers back to one of the men they had originally approached, and they quickly placed one suspect under arrest. However, police believed two men were involved in the incident. As of this morning, they are still looking for the other person involved in the incident. The investigation continues.
