The Franklin County Development Council is partnering with the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and Ottawa University to host an informational session with representatives from Panasonic. They will share an update on the progress on their electric battery plant being constructed in DeSoto. The 300 acre manufacturing facility is set to open spring of 2025 and is the largest economic development project. When it is up and running it will increase Panasonic energy’s global capacity by 60%. The facility will produce lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles around the world.

The presentation is open to the public; however, you do need to RSVP. You can register by following the link on KOFO’s facebook page. The event will be held September 18th from 11:30 to 1:00 on the second floor of the Gibson/Gangwish Building on the Ottawa University Campus.
