U. S. Senator Jerry Moran gave a special announcement at Kansas State University on Monday, August 26th. The announcement was given alongside University President Richard Linton, faculty, staff, and other members of the K-State community. Moran announced a $7 million federal investment to support the university’s biomanufacturing training and education initiative. The program is designed to help position Kansas as a national leader in both biomanufacturing and biosecurity.
The funding will primarily go towards the construction of the new biomanufacturing core and training facility. The program will accelerate the university’s ability to lead next-gen research and workforce development across the field of biomanufacturing. The initiative will also include three additional facilities to help K-State’s research and work on various critical public health issues development modules, including biosecurity research biologics, college of vet medicine biologics and biomanufacturing training and education.
