A tragic accident last night has claimed the life of a former counselor at Ottawa High School. Last night, just after 7:00, Ottawa Police were called to an injury accident at the intersection of West 15th and South Osage Drive, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. First responders from the Ottawa Police and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office determined the pedestrian was fatally injured.
Preliminary investigation indicates that 74-year-old Cathy Brown was walking in the area and for unknown reasons fell in the roadway while crossing, and a turning vehicle struck her. Ottawa police says the driver of that vehicle cooperated fully at the scene. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team responded to assist with the investigation. Additional units with the Ottawa Fire Department and Franklin County Ambulance Service, plus the Ottawa Police and Fire Chaplain assisted at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
