A few weeks ago, the Ottawa City Commission approved a Common Consumption Zone, where people could enjoy alcoholic beverages, on the streets during certain approved events. The first one of those events is coming up on Saturday September 7th. It’s called “Brews, Beats and Boutiques”, and is celebrating the grand opening of the Common Consumption Area.
Ottawa Main Street Director Sarah Stauffer, is calling it a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a full day of shopping, entertainment and community, where you can enjoy a drink from one of the approved participating businesses, while exploring what beautiful Downtown Ottawa has to offer. An official Ribbon Cutting will be held at 11:45 at Haley Park. There will be live music at Haley Park from noon to 5:00. Also a Maker-Market vendor pop-up along the 100 and 200 blocks of Main Street. Add to that, free cotton candy and popcorn, some giveaways and the ability to take your drink and enjoy the downtown area, and you have a full day of entertainment.
Remember, you can not bring your own drinks to the event, they must be purchased at participating businesses and be in an event container. Brews, Beats and Boutiques, Saturday in Downtown Ottawa
