The Franklin County Development Council is partnering with the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce and Ottawa University to host an informational session with representatives from Panasonic. They will share an update on the progress of their electric battery plant being constructed in DeSoto. The 300 acre manufacturing facility is set to open in spring of 2025 and is the largest economic development project ever in the state of Kansas. The facility will produce lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles around the world. Development Council Director Paul Bean with more:
