The Miami County Community Foundation has a new director. Tammy Booe, of Osawatomie has been named to the position of executive director. The foundation recently received a grant to hire a full-time executive director and Tammy was selected. She was born and raised in Osawatomie, and she graduated from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1984. Her husband, Joe, also is from Osawatomie, and they have raised their family in Miami county. According to the Miami County Republic, Tammy says she loves small town life because everyone knows you and looks out for you and your family. She says they have taught their children the importance of giving back to your community by volunteering.

The Miami County Community Foundation was established in 2007 with a mission to improve the business climate, quality of life, and cultural and educational development in Miami County. The foundation assists donors in achieving their philanthropic objectives by establishing restricted and unrestricted endowments during their lifetime or through planned giving. Income from these endowments and donations are used to provide grants to various Miami County nonprofit organizations that are positively impacting their communities.
