Hunting in some form pretty much goes on year round. Knowing how to safely handle a firearm and the rules and regulations of hunting in Kansas is very important. There will be two separate classes offered for the 2024 Kansas Hunter Education Classes that will be take place on October 5th and 6th at the Optimist Youth Building at 1700 North Lake Road in Garnett. One class is the traditional class, which is a two day course. The first day will be Saturday, October 5th from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. it will consist of classroom instruction and the students will be required to bring their own lunch. On Sunday, October 6th, the class will be from 12:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. and will include field day exercises. The second class offered is a 1 day course from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. students must complete an internet portion of the course before attending the field day.

Students must be 11 years old to become certified. It will cost $15 per student to offset facility fees. Students must pre-register to attend. Class sizes are limited. Give us a call at KOFO for more information.
