Good news for Paola Waste Management customers. Waste Management is set to deliver a free 95-gallon trash cart and 65-gallon recycling cart to every household in Paola that doesn’t already have them as part of a new initiative. They are making the change to make curbside collection services more efficient, keeping safety as a top priority. The carts were to be delivered this week, starting yesterday, October 1st.

Paola residents who already have a trash cart will no longer be responsible for paying a usage fee. The fee will be removed from their account effective today. Residents must use the new carts for service, and Waste Management will no longer be emptying personal cans. Old recycling bins will no longer be serviced by waste management by the end of October. The new cart will have more capacity and will help eliminate material from blowing around. Residents can also contact waste management if they want to schedule a time to pick up their old recycling bins. Otherwise, they can keep the bins. One other thing, if you think the new cart is too big for your needs, let them know and they will bring you a smaller 65 gallon bin.
