This week’s Donuts For Do-Gooders Award Winners are the group at AdventHealth Sports Medicine & Rehab Center. The nominee says they provide “outstanding patient care”, a person can immediately tell upon meeting a group of them that they are passionate about their chosen profession. Led by the same man for 27 years, Bill Pfizenmaier, he oversees the 17 full-time and part-time therapists/staff members, which he says is one of the best things he likes about his job, “the people he works with” and being able to “help people reach their goals, leading to awesome patients and the staff has good teamwork”. Pfizenmaier says their main goal is to help improve a person’s quality of life. They have about 10 therapists working each day, seeing an average of 10 patients a day.
The center provides occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy, at the Franklin County Annex Building. They have seen patients from age 1 month to over 100 years old. Their work includes treating a variety of injuries, vesicular, orthopedic, and balance issues. Congratulations and keep up the good work.
