USD 421 Lyndon has confirmed the recent arrest of Superintendent Brad Marcotte. According to a statement from the district Saturday afternoon, October 19th, Marcotte was arrested and booked into the Osage County Jail by the Osage County Sheriff’s Office late Friday afternoon, in connection with one misdemeanor count each of child endangerment and obstruction. According to a report he was released from jail at 6:45 Friday evening after posting a $2,500 bond.
After learning of the situation, the USD 421 Board of Education convened Friday evening and voted to place Marcotte on administrative leave without pay, pending a full investigation by local authorities, which the district is cooperating with fully.
Formal charges and further details have not been announced. However, in a statement, USD 421 School Board President Bryant Derley thanked the staff for acting quickly and following all safety procedures to protect students and keep them out of harm’s way. Parents with any concerns are invited to contact their building principal or Board of Education directly.
