Baker University has named an interim president. Mr. Hoot Gibson will take the position effective immediately. Gibson will hold this position while the university conducts a search for its 30th president, expected in 2025.
With over 20 years of dedicated service as a member of Baker University’s Board of Trustees, Gibson has demonstrated a profound commitment to the university. A proud alumnus, Gibson has consistently supported the university through numerous high-impact initiatives, including leading efforts to secure Baker’s place in wills and trusts as well as his personal contributions to the Baker University Athletic Hall Of Fame. Also, Gibson helped secure the funds that led to the renovation of Mulvane Hall to create the Boyd Center for Collaborative Science Education, home of Baker’s biology program and other essential academic programs.
Gibson will provide support that will maintain continuity in the university’s operations in preparation for Dr. Lynne Murray’s departure in December. He says he is honored to step into the role and continue to serve the university.
