A major drug bust went down yesterday morning October 24, in Ottawa. The Ottawa Police Department Star Team and Franklin County Deputies executed a search warrant in the 500 block of South Poplar regarding methamphetamine distribution. During the operation, law enforcement deployed a single “flash bang” and utilized drones to view the entire area. The operation was contained to a single residence and at not point was the public in danger. Arrested in the bust were Donna Guilfoyle on charges of distribution of meth within a thousand feet of a school, no drug tax stamp, possession of felony and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia, and possession of meth.
Also arrested, Richard Jackson, Jr. on charges of distribution of meth within a thousand feet of a school, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance using a communication facility, possession of meth, felony interference with law enforcement and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Jeff Richards says they remain dedicated to protecting the community and while he understands that unexpected activity such as this can be alarming, they greatly appreciate the support for people in the area of the incident. He encourages people that suspect illegal sales in their neighborhood to contact law enforcement.
